INTRODUCTION

The Aircraft Design courses are important to distinguish an engineer from either a scientist or technician. These courses begins with engineering drawing, conceptual design and CAD, system design and optimization. The students will be utilize to various commercial software such as CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, Nastran/Pastran, FEA and AAA Aircraft Design.  The Aircraft design courses provide an open ended problems to students in design and optimization of various types of aircraft especially on Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV).

DETAILS

The main course’s objective is to teach students the methodology and decision making involved in the process of designing aircraft. The course will cover the conceptual design of an aircraft with a special focus on UAVs. Detailed design procedures and data will be covered so that a successful design of an airplane can be achieved.

 

Basically this course covers 10 design components that are inter-dependant namely design specification and requirements, mission profiles, weight estimation, aerodynamic characteristics, stability & control analysis, propulsion estimation, performance analysis, structure analysis, configuration layout, systems design and optimization. Finally, the best finalized design will be fabricated and testing.
